About this project

Just Stories is a new community engagement project of the Environmental Leadership Program at the University of Oregon. University of Oregon Masters student Aylie Baker worked with students and community partners to pilot a curricular model that explores possibilities for community engagement on local environmental justice issues through multimedia storytelling. By listening to and telling stories in a conscious and collaborative manner, this project seeks to support personal and community change, extending beyond the classroom to inform the ways in which we interact with our environment and contribute to our communities. In addition to the team of students who worked tirelessly on this project, Just Stories came about through collaboration with and support from Timothy Chen, Kathryn Lynch and Kari Norgaard at the University of Oregon, Lisa Arkin of Beyond Toxics, and the community of Gold Beach, OR.
